Tom Worrell received a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and sociology from the University of Virginia in 1966, a juris doctorate from the University of Tennessee in 1968, and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School in 1971.
Named President of Worrell Newspapers at 29, Worrell proceeded to lead the Virginia based publisher of community newspapers through remarkable growth to more than 100 publications in 28 states. In 1986, Worrell founded Worrell Enterprises to represent his diverse holdings in publishing, television broadcasting, land development, boat design, law and philanthropy.
For over 30 years, he has dedicated his life and resources to the environment and humanitarian programs. He created Worrell Foundation, which among many things made substantial donations to the University of Virginia for international and minority scholarships. He also set up the Milagro Center to offer art and cultural programs to minority children in South Florida, and the Thomas Jefferson Center for the Protection of Free Expression in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Rob brings over 24 years of management, manufacturing and corporate finance experience to Worrell Water. Rob’s career includes 18 years of work as a General Electric executive leading several financial and manufacturing operations. Prior to joining Worrell Water in 2007, Rob spent the last 6 years providing senior strategy and execution support to early–stage for–profit and non–profit ventures in the social and environmental sector.
Kim has served as President of Dharma Group, LC for the last 10 years and has had an 18 year career with Dharma Group/Worrell Enterprises. During her career she has had the opportunity to be involved in Worrell’s organization from start ups to managing the day‑to‑day operations.
Ken Harrison received his B.S. in Chemistry from North Carolina State University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Princeton University. He had 22 years of experience in the development of consumer product formulas, mostly household cleaner/disinfectants, for a major global consumer products company before joining Worrell Water Technologies, LLC in 2006.
Will Kirksey oversees the design and production of our products and helps direct business development. He has over 30 years of experience in environmental engineering and management, including senior positions in the private sector and government with organizations such as Battelle, SAIC, the Civil Engineering Research Foundation, and the Florida Governor’s Office. Will has a M.S. in Environmental Systems Design from Southern Illinois University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
Dave Maciolek has over 16 years of full–time engineering experience primarily related to water and wastewater management. He is a registered civil engineer in ten states including Florida, California and Virginia. Dave is an expert in project management, design and execution. He also has extensive experience in construction oversight, project commissioning and long term operations support of small wastewater treatment systems. He holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Resources Engineering from Humboldt State University and an M.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California–Davis. Dave’s research and experience have resulted in two patents involving wetlands for wastewater treatment.
Eric Lohan is a Project Manager for Living Machine Research and Development. He has a B.A. degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from Oberlin College and a M.S. degree from The Ohio State University in Environmental Science with a focus on ecological engineering. Eric has been involved with research, design and project management of Living Machine systems for 8 years. He is coauthor of five patents.
